Biomedical Sciences Program

The Biomedical Sciences Program is targeted at students with a career goal of doctor of medicine, veterinarian, pharmacist or dentist. Students complete the foundational coursework to apply to a four-year university or medical-related professional school.

What will I learn?

Students will complete core courses such as biology, chemistry, microbiology, physics, English and math. Students will develop practical skills in scientific techniques, data analysis and critical thinking. Students have access to modern laboratories, providing an optimal environment for hands-on experiments and research. Students in the Biomedical Sciences Program have the opportunity to explore a range of medical professional fields and can participate in disease-centered biomedical research on our campus.

Associate of Science

The Biomedical Sciences program is designed for students who wish to improve the lives and health of their community by working in medicine. Students who complete this program achieve an Associate of Science degree with the necessary course work to apply to a four-year university or medical-related professional school. Each university and professional school have specific course requirements; consultations with LCCC’s network of success coaches and faculty mentors is highly recommended to plan coursework that meets the requirements of the student’s transfer school of choice.
