Students in Laramie County Community College's Diagnostic Medical Sonography program are currently studying OB scanning.
These students need volunteers to practice their scanning techniques in LCCC's modern ultrasound lab. The sessions are free.
Volunteer Requirements
All volunteers must:
- Be 22-39 weeks pregnant at the time of the exam.
- Have had a normal OB 20-week Full Anatomy (Anatomical Survey) Ultrasound performed at a physician's office, clinic, or hospital for their current pregnancy.
- Email your OB 20-week Full Anatomy (Anatomical Survey) Ultrasound Report or an image of your OB 20-week Full Anatomy Ultrasound Report to bwebbFREELARAMIE or awadeFREELARAMIE before your session.
What to Expect
- OB ultrasound exams are provided FREE to assist in the training and education of LCCC DMS students.
- Volunteers will be scanned by two students during a 45-minute time frame.
- Students are monitored and instructed by an experienced ARDMS OB/GYN-credentialed LCCC DMS faculty member.
- This ultrasound exam is not intended to replace official ultrasound exams conducted by professional sonographers and interpreted by licensed providers.
- A licensed provider will not interpret this ultrasound exam or generate a report.
- LCCC offers 3-D/4-D technology and will attempt to obtain beautiful images for keepsakes. The quality of the images obtained will depend on the baby's position and cooperation.
- LCCC students will provide volunteers with printed paper images from the session.
- LCCC students will provide volunteers with a USB with images from the session.
- Volunteers should prepare to be patient and enjoy the time spent observing their baby.
- You may bring up to 3 guests to your scheduled session.
- A faculty member will contact you to confirm your appointment within 1-2 business days.
