Message from the Board President

Dershie BarberAs I begin my first year as President of the LCCC Foundation Board of Directors, I am honored and energized to be part of this remarkable organization. The LCCC Foundation has a long tradition of excellence, stewardship, and community engagement – and it is a privilege to help lead this next chapter.

This is a time of transition for the Foundation, and with transition comes opportunity. One of our most exciting priorities this year is the hiring of a new full-time Foundation Executive Director. This leader will be instrumental in guiding our vision, strengthening our operations, and ensuring we continue to serve Laramie County Community College with intention and impact. As we move forward, it is essential that we maintain the strong ties we have with the College and remain aligned with its evolving needs and strategic direction. Our work is most effective when it is rooted in collaboration, shared purpose, and a deep commitment to student success.

In the coming year, our Board will continue to focus on thoughtful and strategic fundraising that addresses the College’s greatest priorities – whether through scholarship support, program innovation, or opportunities that enrich the student and community experience. I am fortunate to work alongside an exceptional leadership team and a dedicated Foundation Board and staff who bring passion, expertise, and a genuine commitment for our community. Together, we will build on the strong foundation that has been laid and continue advancing the impactful work of the LCCC Foundation.

What inspires me most are the LCCC stories I hear – our students who persist and thrive, the donors who give generously because they believe in the mission, and the faculty and staff who support learners every step of the way. These stories remind us why our mission matters: Engaging our Community and Supporting LCCC.

I look forward to the work ahead and to partnering with each of you as we continue to elevate the College and strengthen the impact of the LCCC Foundation. Thank you for being part of our story and for helping make a difference in the lives of students across our institution.

Warm regards,
