2021 LCCC COVID-19 Emergency Grant for Students Required Reporting
- Laramie County Community College (LCCC) acknowledges that the institution signed and
returned the Certification and Agreement to the US Department of Education. LCCC has
used no less than the required amount of funds received through the Higher Education
Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF II) authorized by the Coronavirus Response and Relief
Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSAA) to provide Emergency Financial Aid
Grants to students.
- LCCC received $751,327from the US Department of Education pursuant to the institution’s Certification and
Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.
- LCCC distributed $751,327 in HEERF II Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.
- The estimated total number of students at LCCC that were eligible to receive an emergency
financial aid grant under the CRRSAA is 2,267.
- 1,081 LCCC students received a 2021 LCCC COVID-19 Emergency Grant.
- LCCC implemented an application process to identify students enrolled for Spring 2021
Semester who have been adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and needed emergency
grant funding. The application opened on February 1, 2021 with a deadline of March
22, 2021. Awarding of grants began March 23, 2021, immediately following the application
deadline. Students were given the option on the application to apply the grant funds
to their student account/LCCC charges or to receive a direct disbursement of the grant
in full.
LCCC established grant amounts and an award priority order in an effort to distribute the grant funds as widely as possible to our students in need of emergency funds and to ensure prioritization of funding to our students with exceptional need. Approximately 65% of our total student emergency grant funding went to Pell Grant-eligible students.
All Pell Grant-eligible students were awarded first and received the highest grant amounts. Students that needed the grant funding to help with their direct educational expenses were awarded next at the established grant amounts. Non-Pell Grant-eligible students were awarded last and received the lowest grant amounts.
The average grant amount distributed was $695. - Instructions, directions, and guidance provided by LCCC to students concerning the
