Healthcare Administration Program - Bachelors

The Bachelor of Applied Science in Healthcare Administration was developed for students who have completed an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree. This program is intended for students who have experience in the healthcare field and seek to further their education to move into management or administrative roles. Previous work experience within the healthcare field is not required; however, it is highly encouraged.  

What will I learn?

This program will provide a foundation in business skills and healthcare specific content to help graduates successfully navigate the unique challenges of management in the healthcare industry.  

Students will study accounting, economics and resource management. They will explore laws and policies as well as ethics surrounding healthcare. Students will also focus on communication and human resources.  

Bachelor of Applied Science

The Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Healthcare Administration is designed for students who have completed an Associate of Applied Science degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education or technical training provider. The degree is intended for students who have expertise within a specific technical area, experience working within that field, and who seek to further their education and move into management or administrative roles by completing the requirements for a Bachelor degree.

A minimum of 60 credits from a completed AAS will be applied to the Bachelor of Applied Science degree; however, additional lower-division coursework may be required as a part of the Bachelor of Applied Science requirements. A minimum of 45 upper-division credits are required for completion of the Bachelor degree.

Graduates of this program typically work in administrative positions in hospitals, clinics, public health, and a variety of other healthcare facilities.
