Emergency Medical Technician

The LCCC EMT Program is a one semester long course that is held in the Fall and Spring semesters. The EMT Program is a hybrid program in which lectures are broadcast live online and can be watched and participated in from anywhere! Hands on labs are held on the Cheyenne LCCC campus throughout the semester. During this course, students learn from instructors with years of experience in EMS. Students experience real life simulation through scenarios and the use of state of the art mannequins.

EMT Students are able to complete their required vehicular ride time with many agencies throughout the region. Upon successful completion of the EMT Program, students will be eligible to sit for the NREMT Psychomotor and Cognitive exams in order to obtain licensure as an EMT in the State of Wyoming.

Once licensed, EMTs may work for ambulance services, fire departments, hospitals, urgent care centers, doctors' offices, and many other facilities.

Students enrolled in this program must successfully complete and pass a background check and drug screening. Up-to-date vaccinations are also a requirement to complete vehicular rotations.

You must apply to Laramie County Community College before registering for the EMT*1500 course. Students must provide an official copy of all past college transcripts, or high school transcripts if you have not previously attended college, to the LCCC Admissions office.
