UW and LCCC Launch Student Express Transfer Agreement

The Express Transfer Agreement (ETA) program allows LCCC students in certain programs to be co-admitted to and co-advised by UW; streamlines the transfer of LCCC credits toward UW degrees; and gives LCCC students the opportunity to experience UW sporting events, concerts and other activities.

“The university is delighted to be part of this new partnership with a valued community college partner to create even smoother pathways for students to earn their associate degrees and then obtain their bachelor’s degrees from the university,” UW President Ed Seidel says. “Our hope is that this pilot program will grow to include more areas of study and more of our great Wyoming community colleges.”

“This is an exciting opportunity for our students and shows both institutions continued commitment to supporting and improving the transfer process,” LCCC President Joe Schaffer says. “Through the co-advising model and clear program alignment this partnership will help prepare our students for success after they complete their degree at LCCC.”

The ETA program is currently available to full-time students enrolled at LCCC who aspire to earn bachelor’s degrees in elementary education; secondary education; criminal justice; and business and accounting.

A centerpiece of the new program is co-advising, in which LCCC students are assigned advisers from both LCCC and UW and receive regular access to and communication from both. Once a student reaches the point of transfer, the student will automatically be moved to full UW student status and register for the next semester with full understanding of the path to complete a UW bachelor’s degree.

Invitations to participate in the program already have been sent to LCCC students in the specific ETA degree programs this semester. More information is available at www.uwyo.edu/ETA.
