LCCC Theatre opens first show of the fall, ‘She Kills Monsters’
CHEYENNE, Wyoming – Laramie County Community College’s Theatre Department will host their first show of the fall and their first play in the new Surbrugg/Prentice Auditorium at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 11-13 and 18-20. The department will perform Qui Nguyen’s “She Kills Monsters,” a fast-paced dramatic comedy about a young woman dealing with loss, fighting the demons that haunt her and coming out stronger on the other side.
“I chose this play because it would be an incredibly deep and meaningful experience for the students after a year of doing smaller productions,” LCCC Theatre Instructor Jason Pasqua said. “I also thought this would be a great first production for the SPA, to use every aspect of this facility and it’s new capabilities.”
Prior to this fall, LCCC’s theatre productions have been held in the college’s more intimate Playhouse. While the theatre department still plans to offer productions in the Playhouse, having She Kills Monsters in the larger SPA provides opportunities LCCC’s students have never had before.
The fall production will include an ambitious set, lighting and sound design and will provide new and exciting learning opportunities for students, and challenge them in ways they have not been before.
The fall production will feature LCCC student Michaela Ricciardi (Cheyenne, Wyoming) as Agnes Evans. During the production, Agnes gets to know her sister Tilly Evans, played by LCCC student Rebecca Padget (Rawlins, Wyoming), and herself, on a journey of self-discovery, acceptance and love.
General admission tickets are available for $20 (all ages) at lccc.wy.edu/theatretickets. All students (middle school – college) with a valid student ID are free. Proceeds support future LCCC Theatre productions.

The play contains mature themes intended for audiences 13 and older.
