LCCC to dedicate 2068 Time Capsule

CHEYENNE, Wyoming. – Laramie County Community College will put a piece of history away for the next 50 years on Thursday, Oct. 28, when they celebrate the competition and dedication of the 2068 Time Capsule. The time capsule is to be opened during the college’s 100th Anniversary Celebration in 2068. 

The time capsule includes letters from current employees to their future counterparts and memorabilia of what LCCC looks like today. 

Laramie County Community College was approved by the Laramie County voters in 1968 and first provided educational classes in downtown Cheyenne before moving to its current location on College Drive. Today LCCC celebrates two campus; 70 credit programs leading to associate degrees, certificates of completion and bachelor degrees; more than 360 full-time employees; and an unduplicated headcount of 5,307 students for the 2020-21 academic year. 

The time capsule will be installed in the Surbrugg/Prentice Auditorium, during an open house from 4 – 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28. Members of the community are invited to join LCCC employees and attend the open house and celebration.
