Registration opens Wednesday for SEEK and youth summer programs at LCCC

CHEYENNE — This summer, the place for kids is Laramie County Community College.

Registration for the youth summer programs begins at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 28. Classes and camps are expected to fill quickly, so interested families are strongly encouraged to register early for the best chance at obtaining the desired sessions.

There are three ways to register: online at youthprogram.lccc.wy.edu, by phone at 307.778.4327, or in person at the CCI Building on the LCCC campus, Room 109.

Programs and dates include:

  • SEEK (Summer Educational Experiences for Kids): June 18-22 (ages 5-12); July 9-13 (ages 5-12)
  • Fit Kids Camp: July 16-19 (ages 8-13)
  • Golden Eagle Youth Sports Institute: June 11-15 (ages 6-9); June 25-29 (ages 10-12)

Additionally this year, there are a number of other special interest programs, including culinary camps, livestock judging, and "Rocket Into Weather."
Complete information about all camps can be found at YouthProgram.lccc.wy.edu, including dates, costs, age ranges, and more. Payment is due at the time of registration.

LCCC's SEEK program has been a staple in the community for more than 20 years, and its success has significantly expanded to additional weeks of youth summer opportunities at the college.

"We love sharing such a fun and stimulating experience for the kids of our community," Christie Goertel, program manager for life enrichment at LCCC, said. "And it absolutely livens the campus during the summer!"

Registration will remain open until the classes fill or until the registration deadline designated for each SEEK Week or youth camp.
