ACT Now launches three new training opportunities for high-demand careers

CHEYENNE, WYO. — Spring is a time of renewal, and that includes people looking for a change in their own lives. For those ready for a change in their job situation, the "Achieve Career Training Now!" program (or ACT Now) is implementing three new short-term training opportunities that enable participants to break into technical fields leading to rewarding and profitable careers.

ACT Now is part of the Outreach & Workforce Development arm of Laramie County Community College.

Thanks to partnerships with industries throughout Cheyenne, the three new training programs launching this spring are:

  • Introduction to Construction
  • Introduction to Manufacturing
  • Introduction to Logistics

Following nationally recognized industry standards, these trainings develop the skills needed to begin careers in high-demand occupations such as construction, manufacturing, oil and gas, logistics, and HVAC/R. In addition to receiving a non-credit certification of completion, students also receive OSHA 10 and CPR/first aid credentials.

Working with the ACT Now team, students have the opportunity to access grant assistance to help fund their training. An application, documentation, and approval process is required, so interested participants are encouraged to apply immediately.

Numerous businesses across Cheyenne have approved the trainings and will offer interviews to those students who successfully complete the program.

To apply or learn more about the programs and funding opportunities, contact ACT Now at 307.772.7351 or rmcelroyFREELARAMIE.
