CHEYENNE, WYO. — At this year's Region 7 Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival, LCCC Theatre received two awards.

Last fall's production of The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later was recognized with Alexander Soden winning the Design, Technology and Management Region 7 Legacy Award for his lighting design and Soden, Emilygrace Piel, and Solveig Gasner winning the Don Child Collaboration Award through the Stagecraft Institute of Las Vegas.

In the production, Piel was stage manager, Soden was lighting designer, and Gasner was set designer.

"That our students were recognized with these awards for their work is absolutely thrilling, said Jason Pasqua, theatre instructor and director of the production. "This show, and the special place it holds for us, makes it quite an accomplishment."

The LCCC theatre program is frequently recognized with honors regionally and nationally. The next production will be two one-act plays by James McLure, Laundry and Bourbon and Lone Star. Those performances begin April 19.
