LCCC’s campus safety director becomes president of regional FBI National Academy Associates

CHEYENNE, WYO. — On December 21, 2017, James Crosby, Director of Campus Safety for Laramie County Community College, was elected and sworn in as the President of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates (FBINAA). This chapter encompasses membership in both Wyoming and Colorado, and Crosby was sworn in during the Chapter's December meeting.

The FBI National Academy is a prestigious professional development course in which U.S. and international law enforcement leaders complete a curriculum of undergraduate and/or graduate courses at the Federal Bureau of Investigation's campus at Quantico, Virginia. Membership is comprised of nearly 17,000 senior law enforcement professionals dedicated to providing our communities, states, countries, and profession with the highest degree of law enforcement expertise, training, education, and information.

Holding bachelors and master's degrees in education, Crosby has previously been a classroom teacher and served over 30 years in law enforcement. He also served as the director of Public Safety and Environmental Compliance for Spring Hill College in Alabama before accepting his current position at Laramie County Community College. He graduates from the 164th session of the FBINA.

"It's my hope that in this elected position, I can further enhance the networking between institutions of higher education and federal, state, and local law enforcement to help provide a safe environment conducive to learning."
