Impressive truck donation to LCCC Foundation will help diesel tech students

CHEYENNE, WYO. — A tremendous donation of trucks to Laramie County Community College's diesel technology program will be celebrated at a special event this month.

The program will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, at the east bay of the LCCC Flex Tech Building. Cheyenne Mayor Marian Orr will be one of featured speakers.

The donation is made possible by Navistar International, who provided the college with seven different trucks. They range from a 'cab chassis' to a pair of ProStar tractors with sleeper cabs, as well as DuraStar box trucks with large cargo holds.

"Trucks like these can often cost $50,000 for used or $100,000 for new," Lisa Murphy of the LCCC Foundation said. "With the recent budget cuts faced by the college, donations like this can change the entire direction of the program."
