LCCC to host national memorial, "Remembering Our Fallen"

CHEYENNE, WYO. — Laramie County Community College has the honor of being selected to host Remembering Our Fallen, a national memorial honoring those in the military who perished in The War on Terror.

The memorial can be viewed 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Nov. 17-26 (excluding Thanksgiving). The multiple photographic towers that comprise this memorial will be on display in the Clay Pathfinder Building on the LCCC campus.

Remembering Our Fallen honors more than 4,700 of America's military that died from The War on Terror since Sept. 11, 2001. Unlike brick and mortar memorials, this one is designed to travel and includes both military and personal photos.

Cheyenne is the only city to host this exhibit as it travels from New York to California.

"Just about everyone alive can relate to this memorial because the war is still going on," said Kevin Yarbrough, local coordinator for the project.

On their website, the designers of the memorial said that they hope the legacy of the piece will be that these men and women will be remembered and their names will be spoken, while helping to lessen the grief of their families.

Support for this memorial is provided by the LCCC Student Veterans of America Chapter and Wyoming Rib & Chop.
