LCCC’s Albany County Campus to host Zine Thing

LARAMIE, WYO. -  The entire Laramie community is encouraged to get its “zine” on, thanks to Laramie County Community College’s Albany County Campus.

Zine Thing will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, at the ACC Atrium, 1125 Boulder Drive in Laramie. The event is open to the community.

Zines, which earned the name as an abbreviation of magazine or fanzine, are recognizable as “homemade” publications, usually on an unconventional topic and circulated on a relatively small basis.

During the event, students will display the zines they have created and attendees will have the opportunity to participate in Make-a-Zine, sponsored by the ACC Library.

The event is presented by the students in the Women’s Studies and Introduction to American Studies classes. Support is provided by LCCC’s Campus Activities Board.
