LCCC to hold groundbreaking for new Student Services building

CHEYENNE, WYO. —The look of the Laramie County Community College campus continues to change for the better, as construction begins this summer on a second new facility.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Student Services and University Center will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, on the north side of campus near the blue arches. Several dignitaries from the community as well as the University of Wyoming will be on hand for the celebration.

The Student Center will serve as the new “front door” of the campus and starting point for students. The new building will be home to:

  • Admissions
  • Bookstore
  • Student Records
  • Financial Aid
  • Counseling & Campus Wellness
  • Office of Student Accommodation
  • Advising & Career Services
  • University of Wyoming Outreach
  • Classrooms
  • Offices
  • Assembly space

The college is working with the Construction Management Division of the State of Wyoming for 85,000+ square-foot project.

Last month, LCCC also broke ground on the Flexible Industrial Technology Building. Both of these new facilities are made possible thanks to a successful bond election in 2013, as well as the support of the Wyoming Legislature.
