Update on parking lot expansion

LCCC staff has been diligently working to expand parking availability at the lot to the west of the Arena. These new spaces will help handle additional parking needed around campus, particularly in light of the two major building projects that will begin construction in 2015.

However, the cold weather has caused the asphalt batch plants to shut down for the winter. Tim Macnamara, director of the LCCC physical plant, said this means they will be unable to pave the new lot until sometime in April. 

In the meantime, the contractor will continue to install the new parking lot lights. Once the lights are working, likely by Christmas, Macnamara anticipates reopening the existing parking in that area until it must temporarily close again in spring to complete the paving.
