Apply for Admission

You've made a smart choice!

Use the steps below to guide you through your admissions process. Your steps will depend on if you are seeking a credential (degree, credit diploma or certificate) from LCCC or if you are non-degree-seeking (taking classes for fun/personal interest, or transferring credits without obtaining an LCCC credential).

Begin the application.

If you have previously attended LCCC and you have taken a one-semester or more absence (not including summer), you need to reapply. Please log into your application account and then click on "Create a New Application" to apply for your new intended start term, then refer to the steps below to continue your enrollment.

Non-degree-seeking students need only reapply after a two year break in enrollment.

Placement at LCCC

To ensure registration in the proper courses, LCCC needs to assess students' skill levels in key areas - English and math. Admission to LCCC is not based on placement - this information is just used to ensure students are taking the classes that will help them be most successful. There are various ways that we can assess students' skill levels in these areas.

  • Make sure that LCCC has received all of your transcripts - we may be able to use your high school GPA or your ACT scores for placement into courses.
  • College transcripts must be official. Transcripts must be sent directly from the institution or arrive in a sealed envelope to be considered official. Allow up to 20 business days for processing of official college transcripts, upon receipt.
  • LCCC will accept unofficial high school or high school equivalency transcripts. Click here to upload your unofficial high school transcript.
  • Official transcripts can be submitted via secure electronic PDF (student-recordsFREELARAMIE) (official transcripts only), or mail (1400 E. College Drive, Cheyenne, WY 82007), or a hard copy can be turned in by the student.
  • View information about placement and see placement levels and courses.

Placement at LCCC

If the class has a prerequisite, you must provide proof that you meet the prerequisite.

Often for non-degree-seeking students, the prerequisite is a class you completed at another institution. If this is the case, you will need to provide that proof in the form of a transcript. Typically, an unofficial transcript can be used to meet this purpose, but you will need additional assistance registering. Contact%20the%20Student%20Hub for assistance when you have reached this step.

If you have not taken college-level courses before, you will need to provide other placement information to meet certain prerequisites. There are various ways that we can assess students' skill levels for placement. View information about placement and see placement levels and courses.
