LCCC mourns the loss of Foundation Board President George McIlvaine
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George W. McIlvaine, a great man who has deeply touched the lives of many people in the Laramie County community.
George and his wife Mary have been great friends of Laramie County Community College, and especially the students who come through our doors, since they came to Cheyenne in 1986. Their scholarship has helped more than 35 nursing students achieve a higher education, and George’s friendship and support has left an indelible mark on those students and many more.
A vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Holy Trinity Church, and the funeral liturgy will take place at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, also at Holy Trinity. Immediately following the liturgy, a reception will be held in celebration of George’s life in the Union Pacific Room of the Center for Conferences and Institutes at Laramie County Community College.
Memorials may be made to the Cheyenne Rotary Foundation or the Laramie County Community College Foundation.
