Leadership and Professional Development

Enhancing Your HR Knowledge | May 1, 2018 | 1 pm – 5 pm | $139

Now that you’ve hired the right people, your responsibility is to create and maintain a safe environment.  Participants gain valuable information about the role of a leader as it relates to supervising and managing performance and the role of human resource professionals in assisting you with this aspect of your job.

Communicating as a Leader |  May 1, 2018| 8 am to Noon | $139

“People skills” are essential to a person’s ability to lead. Participants explore their strengths as a communicator that will promote a positive work environment while successfully engaging in difficult and everyday conversations.

Putting the Right People on the Bus |  May 2, 2018 | 8 a.m. to Noon | $139

Hiring is one of the more important tasks of a leader.  Participants explore the hiring process and gain skills to attract the right candidates and a future workforce to move your organization forward.

Coaching and Managing Performance |  May 2, 2018 | 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. | $139

Good supervisors are good coaches!  They look for opportunities to be proactive in helping their employees grow and develop professionally.  This workshop addresses best practices in dealing with both proactive (helping the good get better) and reactive (addressing performance problems) coaching skills.

Organizational Advocacy | May 3, 2018 | 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. | $139

Workplaces exist by bringing people together to accomplish a common goal.  Employees who understand the power dynamic interactions between people and their organizations will advance in their careers.  Understanding workplace communication balanced with strategic planning can be an asset to both the organization and the employee.  Participants identify long-term plans that benefit themselves and their organization.

Resolving and Managing Conflict |  May 3, 2018 | 8 a.m. to Noon | $139

Leaders are often required to help employees deal with differences and understand the value of varying opinions.  Effective conflict management, through coaching and mediation, are important skills to manage difficult conversations.  Participants develop the ability to help employees resolve or manage the conflicts that may arise and maintain a culture of mutual respect and effective communication.
