Activities for Manufacturing Career Exploration
Grades K-2ND
- AMATROL: Fly a Drone
Introduce the students to careers in Technology by showing them a drone and allowing
them to fly the contained drone.
- JUNIORR ACHIEVEMENT:
In this 30-minute activity, students will learn about goods, services, and production
while running a donut shop and seeing how they can earn money for their work. Sweet
O Donuts Supply Chain (activity does NOT involve real donuts, but we will have donuts
at the end for participants; please indicate in registration food allergies of your
child(ren)
- TWIN TREE SIGNS:
Manufacturing is more than building components. Have you ever wondered how industry
logos and phone numbers get onto cars? In this 30-minute session you will watch us
"wrap" the LCCC CDL trailer, then get the opportunity to "wrap" your own take home
vehicle?
- MANUFACTURING WORKS: 3 D Printing
In this 45-minute session, we will answer the questions “What is a 3-D Printer?” and
“How are 3-D Printers used in manufacturing?”. Participants will receive a 3-D printed
item at the conclusion of the presentation
- FROG CREEK PARTNERS: Brian Deurloo of Frog Creek Partners will be presenting his invention of the Gutter
Bin stormwater filtration system and how it works. Have fun inventing your own pollution
capture device with some hands-on crafting material and tools.
Grades 3RD-6TH

- LCCC LIBRARY MAKER SPACE: 3 D Printing; Glowforge
The 60-minute workshop for the Laramie County Community College Golden Eagle Innovation
Wyrkshop makerspace will teach you all about how 3D printers work, basic 3D printer
anatomy, how to operate Prusa 3D printer hardware and software, and best practices
for using Innovation Wyrkshop Prusa 3D printers. Glowforge: In our Glowforge workshop
you will learn all about how laser cutters and engravers work, basic laser cutter
anatomy, how to operate the Glowforge laser cutter hardware and software, and best
practices for using Innovation Wyrkshop laser cutters safely and responsibly.
- LCCC LIBRARY LEGO TEAM: Lego Robotics
We will cover Lego robotic basics and best practices, and introduces you to the fun
of Lego Robotics!

providers, businesses, and consumers are interdependent—all while gathering parts
from around the world to build a computer.
