New program offers career training in high-demand fields
Thanks to a new program at Laramie County Community College, students can obtain career
training in some of the most in-demand occupations.
LCCC was awarded a grant in partnership with the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services
to help individuals get the necessary training in a range of high-demand fields. The
ACT (Achieve Career Training) Now! program helps individuals earn national certifications
in areas such as medical office, petroleum process technology, computer technology
and pharmacy technician.
Most trainings can be completed in six months or less.
Because of this grant opportunity, qualified individuals may also receive financial
support to attend this training as well.
“We excited about helping people obtain their career goals in a way that supports
local businesses needing qualified employees,” said Jeanine Steele, Case Manager for
ACT Now! “It’s a win-win for everyone.”
