Special Event for Students: Sam Mihara: Memories of Heart Mountain - Oct. 8

A special presentation of Sam Mihara: Memories of Heart Mountain for LCCC students will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, in the CCC Student Lounge. Free food and refreshments for attendees.

During World War II, the U.S. government forced nine-year-old Sam Mihara and his entire family to move from their home in San Francisco to an internment camp in Wyoming. Seventy years have passed since the incarceration, and Sam is one of the few survivors willing to speak about this experience. In his moving presentation, Memories of Heart Mountain, he talks about his years in the Heart Mountain and Pomona interment camps, providing a first-hand account of this great civil rights injustice that was experienced by more than 120,000 Japanese Americans.
