Frank Cook teaches private lessons in trombone, bass trombone, and euphonium at LCCC. In addition, he also teaches a wide range of courses at University of Northern Colorado, including applied trombone, bass trombone, and euphonium lessons, music theory, aural skills, and history of rock and roll. Cook earned his Doctor of Arts from the University of Northern Colorado, and his Master of Music, Bachelor of Music, and Bachelor of Music Education from Ithaca College. His primary teachers have included Nat Wickham, Hal Reynolds, Mark Kellogg and Mark Babbitt.

Prior to his appointment at LCCC, Cook taught trombone pedagogy at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. An active performer in northern Colorado, Cook currently serves as second trombonist with the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra, a position he has held since 2008. He also performs regularly with many regional orchestras including in Opera Fort Collins, Fort Collins Symphony, Loveland Opera Theater, Larimer Chorale, Greeley Chorale, and the Colorado Jazz Orchestra. Prior to moving to Colorado, Cook served as trombonist with the Schenectady, Utica, Catskills, and Cayuga Chamber Orchestras, as well as lead trombonist with the Ithaca Ageless Jazz Band. He was the winner of the 2009 Rocky Mountain Concerto Competition, where he appeared as a soloist with the UNC Wind Ensemble performing Richard Peaslee's Arrows of Time.
