Curriculum

This curriculum applies to students applying for radiography classes beginning in fall 2013. Students who are currently enrolled in the radiography class that runs from fall 2012 to summer 2014 use this curriculum.

 

 

Associate of Applied Science

Prerequisites

• Reading Level III
• GPA of 2.0 or higher

Required:

ZOO 2010 – Anatomy and Physiology I1 -AND-
ZOO 2020 – Anatomy and Physiology II1

OR:
ZOO 2015 – Human Anatomy1 -AND-
ZOO 2025 – Human Physiology1
MATH 1000 – Problem Solving1 -OR-
MATH 1400 – Pre-Calculus Algebra1
PSYC 1000 – General Psychology

1 Science and math courses must be five years current with a grade of “C” or better.
* Students must complete one 8-10 credit sequence. Taking one course from each sequence will NOT fulfill this requirement.

First Year

RDTK 1520 - Radiographic Patient Skills
RDTK 1620 - Radiation Biology and Protection
HLTK 1200 - Medical Terminology**
CO/M 1010 - Public Speaking**
ENGL 1010 - English I: Composition**
(Clinical: Last 8 weeks, 10 hours/week = 80 hours3)
PHYS 1050 - Concepts of Physics and HLTK 2300 - Healthcare Ethics also may be taken as supplemental courses but are not required.

Spring Semester

(Note re: POLS 1000, HIST 1211, HIST 1221, HIST 1251, or ECON 1200. If any of these courses have been accepted for transfer
at LCCC from an out-of-state institution, testing on the Wyoming Constitution may be required. Refer to your degree requirements in the college catalog for more specific guidelines.)

(Clinical: 12 hours/week = 192 hours3)

(Clinical: MWF 24 hours/week = 192 hours plus 20 shift work hours = 212 hours3)

(Clinical: First 8 weeks, MTWThF 29 hours/week plus last 8 weeks, MWF 21 hours/week = 400 hours3)

(Clinical: MWF 21 hours/week = 336 hours3)

Summer Session

RDTK 2900 - Radiography Seminar
RDTK 2713 - Clinical Education V
(Clinical: TTh 16 hours/week plus 40-hour week during first week = 168 hours3)

Total clinical hours = 1,388 hours3
Total credit hours required: 74

2 For students transferring these credits from another institution, check with an adviser for additional coursework that may be required.
3 Clinical hour totals shown are approximate and may vary slightly because of scheduled college holidays/planning days.
** These courses can be taken prior to acceptance in the program.
