General Studies in Social Sciences
The general studies Associate of Arts in Social Sciences degree program is recommended for students who need concentrated social sciences courses to transfer to another educational institution or for employment enhancement. This course of study provides basic knowledge and skills students need to be successful in upper-level specialty courses. The curriculum provides flexibility in order to individualize learning needs within the requirements of the college’s associate’s degree with a minimum loss of credit when transferring.
Completion of this course of study earns an Associate of Arts degree. Because of the varied directions students can take in the field of social science, they are urged to work closely with their advisor in outlining a course of study that will meet their needs, especially if they plan to transfer into a specific discipline.
