Five wins in a row for men's basketball team

Golden Eagles take two on the road.

The Laramie County Community College men’s basketball team won two south sub-region games on the road this weekend. The Golden Eagles defeated Trinidad State Junior College 80-77 on Friday and Otero Junior College 94-84 on Saturday.

Golden Eagles extend winning streak against Rattlers
In a tight game during the second half, the Golden Eagles found themselves tied with Otero Junior College at 61 but went on a 15-0 run to clinch the 94-84 victory. This victory extends LCCC’s winning streak to five and improves its overall record to 14-11.

Eagles beat Trinidad State Junior College by three
The Golden Eagles ended their struggles on the road after overcoming Trinidad State Junior College in a close game 80-77, earning their first road victory since Dec. 11.

LCCC started the game strong with an early 15-1 run, but TSJC closed the gap by halftime and left the Golden Eagles with a three-point cushion at 34-31. LCCC quickly regained a double-digit lead in the second half and led 52-39 with 10 minutes remaining. TSJC again steadily climbed back in the game but could not pass the Eagles. LCCC went 18 of 25 from the free-throw line in the second half to lock in the win.

The Golden Eagles (14-11 overall, 5-2 in south sub-region) will be back at home this weekend when they host Central Wyoming College at 7 p.m. on Friday and Western Wyoming Community College at 4 p.m. on Saturday. All Golden Eagle athletic home events are free.
