Monday, November 14, 2011
LCCC defeated by Sheridan College and New Mexico Junior College.
The Laramie County Community College men's basketball team opened up the regular season at the Eastern Wyoming Classic in Torrington, Wyo., hosted by Eastern Wyoming College on Nov. 11-12.

On Nov. 11, The Golden Eagles lost at the buzzer to Sheridan College 76-78.

Both teams struggled offensively in the first half, but the Generals led 31-26 at intermission. Both teams heated up in the second half, but Sheridan pulled away with a 14 point lead before the Eagles began to rally. LCCC point guard Philip Freeman, who led all scorers with 29 points, tied the game 76-76 on two free-throws with 13 seconds remaining setting up Sheridan’s Robert Heyer’s heroic 17-foot jumper at the buzzer to defeat LCCC.

LCCC power forward Rodrigo Silva recorded a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds to go along with six blocks. The Generals were led by their sophomore center LaMont Prosser, who scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
