Women's soccer team on an 8-game winning streak

Latest victory vs. Western Nebraska Community College.

The Laramie County Community College women’s soccer team improved its winning streak to eight with a 2-1 defeat of the Western Nebraska Community College Cougars in Scottsbluff on Sept. 21.

It didn’t take long for the Golden Eagles to get on the board as Taylor Hockley found the net in the 9th minute, finishing a ball played by Sayit Mejia-Bello. The goal gives Hockley her 9th on the year, and Mejia-Bello increases her assists to 9. Francesca Ali made it 2-0 in the 17th minute off a pass from Morgan Wyant.

The Golden Eagles started the second half a little slow and allowed Western Nebraska to close the gap on a goal from Jordyn Seidel in the 73rd minute. The Golden Eagles did get composed once again and held on for the victory.

With the win, the Golden Eagles go to 8-1 on the year and 3-0 in Region IX. Up next, the Golden Eagles host Northwest College at 4 p.m.
