Adelante: The Center for Getting Ahead offers free job training to qualifying residents.

A new service located on the Laramie County Community College campus is helping community members find success. Adelante: The Center for Getting Ahead is partnering with Connections Corner to offer free training to qualifying residents.

Adelante is currently running a Home Healthcare Aide program in conjunction with the Department of Workforce Services, and Starting Your Own Small Business classes begin June 29. Adelante has also partnered with the Wyoming Family Home Ownership Project to offer a financial literacy class twice during the upcoming academic year. Other classes that will be offered in the next three months include Home Energy Audit, Medical Office, Administrative Support and HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning).

Participation in Adelante trainings is limited to those who are parents of dependent children and earn no more than 185 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Adelante offers life skills as well as job skills training with the goal of helping members of at least 30 families increase their income to 220 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
