The Cardinals' Ellie Engle scored the first goal of the match in the third minute of play, assisted by Aubree Mercier. That early goal served as a wakeup call for the Golden Eagles. Taylor Hockley tied the score up in the 28th minute off an assist from Eri Unai. The score remained tied 1-1 going into the half. In the second half the Eagles dominated possession and were able to move the ball around freely. In the 59th minute the Cardinals were called for a foul. LCCC was awarded a free kick from about 30 yards out. Zahimara Fantauzzi took the free kick and put it over the NIC goalie for the game-winner.
