The Laramie County Community College men’s basketball team
started out the 2012 semester with a 62-49 win over previously ranked Sheridan College (12-2) on Jan. 7 at LCCC.
Sheridan came into the game with only one loss from Northwest College. The Generals couldn’t handle the Golden Eagles’ defensive pressure as LCCC forced the Generals into 25 turnovers. LCCC had a 31-22 lead going into the second half. Sheridan came out strong in the second half and held LCCC to two points for the first seven minutes and tied the game 33-33. The Eagles stepped up their offense and kept chipping away at the Generals until they came away with the 62-49 win. Philip Freeman led all scorers with 21 points.
