10 equestrian athletes place in first show of season

Team places sixth overall.
The LCCC equestrian team competed in its first hunt seat show of the year at Fall River Farms in Fort Lupton, Colo. This was the first time that the region has hosted three horse shows in one weekend. The Golden Eagles’ 10 athletes placed in events. Overall LCCC placed sixth in all three shows as a team.

Individual results:

· Emily Hamilton placed fourth, fifth and sixth in Novice Fences
· Emily Hamilton received two fifth-place ribbons in Novice Flat
· Ashlee Preletz placed sixth in Novice Fences and seventh in Novice Flat
· Krista Quint placed third and fourth in Novice Flat and seventh in Novice Fences
· Leah Santillanes received two sixth-place ribbons in Novice Flat
· Jordan Matthews received three seventh-place ribbons in Advanced Walk, Trot, Canter
· Elizabeth Harris placed first, second and fifth in Advanced Walk, Trot, Canter
· Natalie Fry placed second and seventh in Beginning Walk, Trot, Canter
· Annie Hoag placed first, second and fifth in Walk/Trot
· Katie Briggs placed sixth in Walk/Trot

The equestrian team's next event will be Oct. 16 and 17 at Colby Community College, in Colby, Kan.
