LCCC’s paramedic program will accept applications Dec. 11-20

CHEYENNE, WYO. — The emergency medical services (EMS)/paramedic program at Laramie County Community College will take applications from Dec. 11 until 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20.

Due to available openings in the 2020 LCCC Paramedic Program, additional applications will be accepted for a limited time. In order to qualify for the 2020 Paramedic Program, one must be licensed as an EMT or higher, and or have NREMT certification at the EMT level or higher, and have at least one year of healthcare experience.

Applicant requirements include:

  • Completed program application (pdf) plus:
  • College transcripts and vaccinations
  • Copies of current certification(s)
  • Copy of current health care provider CPR card
  • 2 EMS-related letters of recommendation

Completed applications must be emailed to CretzFREELARAMIE by Dec. 20. Applicants will be required to take an entrance examination in Cheyenne at 8 a.m. on Jan. 3 in the LCCC Training Center, Room 115. Once a completed application is received, applicants will be contacted to confirm their application has been received and confirm their attendance at the entrance examination. Applicants will be notified by Dec. 24 via email or phone if they have been selected for the entrance examination.

That examination will consist of a written examination at the EMT-Basic knowledge level and an interview panel. Successful applicants will be placed on an acceptance list and the top scores will be considered for entry into the 2020 LCCC Paramedic Program.

The program director and the Paramedic Program Selection Committee will review all applications after testing has been completed. Candidates will receive notification by email or phone and mail of acceptance or declination no later than Jan. 6, 2020. The top 20 candidates will be selected for the program. The committee's decision is final.
