CHEYENNE, WYO. – The financial technology company SmartAsset recently released its annual ranking of the best community colleges in the country, and Laramie County Community College received some great news.
Ranked 33rd out of 565 public two-year colleges, LCCC received the best score of any school in Wyoming or Colorado, as well as a number of other states in the region.
“Recognition like this is indicative of the hard work of the entire campus over the past few years,” LCCC President Joe Schaffer said. “We’ve been building a commitment to provide the best possible education and experience, and ultimately our students and graduates are really the ones who benefit.”
Criteria for the rankings considered four metrics reflective of each institutions quality, cost, student success rate and return on investment.
The team from SmartAsset releases this list annually because, as they noted with the study, “Students who attend a community college…can save significantly on tuition and have fewer student loans to pay off.”
The research provided in the survey said that those with an associate degree earn an average of $10,800 more than workers with only a high school diploma or GED.
