CHEYENNE, WYOMING – Beginning this month, parents in Laramie County have a new option to help prepare their children for kindergarten.
The Children’s Discovery Center at Laramie County Community College will offer half-day kindergarten readiness programs, with sessions available either in the morning or the afternoon, Monday through Thursday.
This nine-month program begins Aug. 26.
Highlights of this new venture include:
- fun-filled learning activities aligned with some of the leading early childhood curriculums
- kindergarten readiness prep aligned with Wyoming State standards
- active partnership with families to prepare for the transition to the school district
- teachers who are certified, experienced and highly qualified
“With the new expectations for kindergarten students, this is a great opportunity for children to develop necessary social and academic skills to enter and succeed in school,” said Carrie Westling, director the Children’s Discovery Center.
