Laramie County Community College’s Adult Career and Education System (ACES) recently announced its upcoming schedule for potential students.
Thanks to grant funding, there is no cost to attend classes.
Adult Basic Education and High School Equivalency Certificate Preparation are offered in eight-week class sessions, Jan. 20-March 12 and March 23-May 14. LCCC offers two pathways to the High School Equivalency Certificate tests. HiSETTM is offered through ACES, and GED 2014® is offered through the Exam Lab. These classes prepare students for either test, as both are based on the College and Career Readiness Standards.
Information sessions take place at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Jan. 12 and 13, March 16 and 17, or May 26 and 27. The session includes a short overview of the program with time for attendees to ask questions. Parents of those under 18 are encouraged to attend the session with their youth so that the appropriate signatures can be obtained.
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes begin Jan. 20. Classes will be held Monday through Thursday, 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. New students should attend an intake session at 1 p.m. or 6 p.m. on Jan. 20 or 21. Additional sessions are scheduled for later in the semester.
All information sessions will take place in the Career and Technical Building, Room 112.
Instruction is provided by the ACES team in Cheyenne. Offered in day and evening, these noncredit classes are available for residents 16 years old or older.
