Navigate is a tool that enhances communication and partnerships with students, faculty and staff to support and strengthen student success. It ensures that students have the information and resources necessary to complete their academic, career and life goals.
It is a software platform that allows us to proactively assist students from the moment they begin with LCCC through graduation.
Who is going to use Navigate?
Navigate guides students through their college experience beginning with applying. It alerts students to key steps such as:
- Exploring careers
- Applying for financial aid
- Meeting with faculty and advisors
Students can also use Navigate to:
- Schedule campus appointments
- Create their academic/class plans
- Register for classes through their phones or desktop computers
Advisors, Faculty and Staff
The Navigate software provides advisors and faculty mentors with a single location for student information, including academic plans/courses as well as performance and concerns. It will also facilitate the scheduling of appointments with students among other tools.
Navigate will allow advisors, faculty and staff to connect support for our students by sharing information in student profiles. Faculty and staff will be able to make referrals to campus resources and raise concerns about students' performance and behavior.
Levels of access to information and functions is determined by department and the role assigned to the faculty, advisor or staff.
When will Navigate arrive?
Navigate will go live in Fall 2019. A select group of students, advisors and faculty will test Navigate.
In March 2020, Navigate will be used by all students as well as faculty and staff.
The final piece of the Navigate platform to go live will be registration, which will be available in September 2020.
