A Celebration of the 150th Anniversary of Women’s Suffrage in Wyoming - Sept. 17

The Jessie and Gerald Chambers Speaker Series presents "A Celebration of the 150th Anniversary of Women’s Suffrage in Wyoming" from 5:30 - 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, in the LCCC ANB Bank Leadership Center in the Clay Pathfinder Building.

Join us for a fun filled evening celebrating the 150th Anniversary of Women’s Suffrage in Wyoming. Local historians Rick Ewig and Mike Kassel will delve into the political and social environment of the nation and Wyoming prior to the passage of Women’s suffrage. Why was Wyoming first? What happened after the bill was passed? Why was there an almost immediate attempt to repeal the law and how did therepeal become a condition of statehood?

Evening highlights include a buffet dinner and cash bar, presentation by a League of Her Own players performing Wild West Woos Wonderful Women Voters, a sing along of popular Women’s Suffrage songs of the era and a preview of the trailer for PBS’s new documentary "State of Equality".
