Artist Sharan Elran will speak about Analog Algorithmic Design at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Mar. 22 in the ANB Bank Leadership Center in the Clay Pathfinder Building.
The discussion will go from casting one of a kind pieces for every person on earth to making infinite patterns with very few pieces, Medieval Islamic design, CAD/CAM technologies and some good old ceramic technology from the industrial revolution. Sharan will talk about drawing inspiration from broken pavements and the physics department, all in one hour.
This event is made possible by the LCCC Foundation Entrepreneurial Center Fund and the Gregory Dyekman Math and Science Fund. It is free and open to the public.
