Warren has been a full-time faculty member of LCCC's Department of Mathematics since 1994. Before joining the Department of Mathematics at LCCC, Warren taught for two years at Northwestern Oklahoma State University and since has also taught as an adjunct for numerous other colleges and universities, including Colorado State University and the University of Wyoming.
Warren has always enjoyed the rigor-based essence of the language of mathematics and is especially keen on connecting the language to the physical world for which it was initially expanded under the independent studies of Sir Issac Newton and Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz. Warren is especially fond of the great mathematicians: Archimedes, Johann Bernoulli, Rene DesCartes, Leonhard Euler, Carl Friedrich Gauss, Sofia Kovalevskaya, Ada Lovelace, and Emmy Noether, and he takes every opportunity to make real world connections with his students to the works of these great mathematicians and their personal and professional struggles.
Warren has a very full life outside of academics. Warren is first and foremost a family man. Warren and his family live in Cheyenne and beautiful Fort Collins, Colorado. Warren is also an avid outdoorsman and amateur athlete. Warren spends several weeks each spring backcountry packing throughout Colorado, Wyoming and South Dakota. Warren especially enjoys the Rocky Mountains.
He teaches snowshoeing and hiking classes, both of which he developed for LCCC. He has instructed children in triathlon training and climbing wall lessons for both LCCC's Summer Educational Experience for Kids (SEEK) and the LCCC Youth Sports Institute.
Warren is an annual pass-holder for Copper Mountain where he snowboards every weekend that he can. Warren spends most of his summer month's mountain biking, hiking and exploring the rivers throughout the Rocky Mountain West. Warren also trains triathlon year around, which really takes up the majority of his free time. Warren's absolute favorite activities include road cycling, mountain biking, trail running, swimming and backcountry hiking.
