Degree Information:
- Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Philosophy (1970)
- Master of Science in Guidance and Counseling from Kansas State University (1974)
- Ph.D. in Counselor Education from University of Florida (1981)
Interests:
Involved in church, environmental and political issues.
Professional Experience:
Prior to teaching I was a family therapist with the Office of Youth Alternatives. I have also been director of a residential youth treatment facility and a suicide prevention center, both in Fort Collins, Colo. These experiences have informed my approach to teaching psychology as not just an area of study – the scientific study of human behavior, but as a way of living – being aware of human behavior, by others and ourselves, as an ongoing source of data for that study.
