LCCC’s ranch horse team named event champion

CHEYENNE, WYO. — The Laramie County Community College’s ranch horse team was named champion at the 2016 LCCC Ranch Horse Show, held at the college’s arena last weekend.

Four teams competed in this year’s competition, including the University of Wyoming, Colorado State University, and Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture.        

LCCC’s individual winners were:

  • Cahill Ellenwood: high-point overall, collegiate non-pro division
  • Paige Harvey: second high-point overall, novice division
  • Tray Hiat: high-point overall, limited non-pro division
  • Chelsia McLeod: sixth high-point overall, non-pro division
  • Alanna Starkovich: third high-point overall, limited non pro division

The team is coached by Travis Shoopman.

This collegiate and open show was judged by Kerry Cogburn and Don Beard. The show was approved by the American Stock Horse Association and CoWN Stock Horse Association.
