Fall Courses for Adults

Craft Brew - $75

Sept. 4 - Oct. 3, LCCC 115A and Altitude Brewery

During this five-session course, participants will learn the ins-and-outs of home brew by brewing with a seasoned brewer. Topics will cover sanitation, ingredient selection, recipe formulation, fermentation, packaging, taste testing and more! Home brewers equipment, supplies and lunch are included.

Hands on Automotive - $75

Sept. 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19: 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Become the expert of your vehicle! This hands-on course teaches owners how to do basic tune-up work on their vehicle, saving time and money! Participants will work on checking oil, changing tires, conducting basic tune-ups, checking major systems and learn basic troubleshooting. All supplies are included and a master mechanic teaches the course. All you need is your vehicle!

Outdoor Photography - $20

Sept. 21: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m , Room 118

Ready to move your photography to the next level? This course teaches participants how to manipulate light and composition for effective outdoor photos. Participants will travel to different locations and learn lenses, lighting, depth and composition to create landscape photos on both smartphones and an SLR camera. Bring your smartphone and any camera you are interested in using. SLR camera is available for any individual without a camera.

Landscape Painting - $40

Course 1: Oct. 5: 9 a.m. -.5 p.m.
Course 2: Oct. 15, 17, 22, 24: 9 - 11:30 a.m.

In this introductory course, students will learn how to capture landscapes on canvas by using an artist's eye for color mixing, value scales and illusion of depth. Course will also discuss painting techniques, composition and light. Lunch, supplies for one painting and a set of brushes to take home are all included.

Internet Basics - $10

Oct. 8: 9 - 11:30 a.m., Room 118

This course provides skills to navigate through the internet via a cell phone and computer. Course teaches participants how to protect data when online, proper downloading, printing, saving of online data and how to use common online programs/applications, including social media. Participants will receive a software cheat sheet and a memory stick to take home.

Intro to Manufacturing Certification Prep - *Free

Oct. 14 - Jan. 31: online with 4 monthly 4-hour class component 

This course will examine fundamentals and interrelationships in areas for production (manufacturing processes, maintenance awareness, quality and safety). Understanding manufacturing as a system will help individuals choose to be more flexible, evaluate the impact of decisions, solve problems, be innovative and contribute more fully to an organization. As a student in these classes, you will be challenged with a blended learning approach including lectures, self-paced studies, and online labs.

Fall Festival Field Trip - $10

Oct. 18: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

This field trip will take you down into Colorado for a fall festival experience. Participants will be provided the majority of the day to enjoy games, crafts and vendors at a large fall festival. Only transportation is included and lunch can be purchased on site.

Jewelry Making - $40

Oct. 22, 23, 24: 1:30 - 4:30 p.m., Room 118

This course provides the basic tools to make jewelry, including selection of size, shape and color. Participants will gain knowledge in pattern techniques and basic wire skills to wrap pendants. This is an interactive class where students can explore their creativity and take home several jewelry pieces. All supplies are included.

Beginners Fly Tying - $40

Nov. 16: 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

This course provides the tools needed to begin making fresh water flies. Topics include how to read a fly recipe, choosing the correct tools, selecting the right materials and make beginning to moderate level fly ties in class. Lunch and all supplies are included to make 6+ flies.

Holiday Plating and Table Decorating - $40

Nov. 12, 13, 14: 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.

Whatever the level of expertise, this class will help add a bit of pizzazz to your holiday parties and dinners! Hands-on learning will provide easy and quick decorative cooking tricks, table decorating designs and plating techniques. Turn your table into a holiday wonderland! All supplies are included.

Mask Making - $40

Sept. 17, 18, 19: 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.

This course teaches participants, aged 7-10, mask making from basic to intermediate models. Students will learn elements of culture embedded into mask design and will choose one type of mask to create from different models. All supplies are included.

Video Making and Editing - $20

Sept. 24, 26 and Oct. 1, 3: 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.

Interested in taking your YouTube videos to the next level? This course teaches students, aged 11-15 years, how to make and edit videos for YouTube and other computer systems. Students will learn the basics of design, lighting and sound to create quality video. Students will also learn to upload and edit videos using basic smartphone software.

Mask Making - $40

Oct. 8,9,10: 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.

This course teaches participants, aged 11-15, mask making from intermediate to intricate models. Students will learn elements of culture embedded into mask design and will choose one type of mask to create from different models. All supplies are included.

Fall Festival Field Trip - $40

Oct. 25: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

This field trip will take you child, aged 7-10, down into Colorado for a fall festival experience. Participants will be supervised while enjoying games, crafts, and vendors at a smaller fall festival in Colorado. Transportation, lunch, and a pumpkin is included.

3D Printing - $40

Nov. 12, 13, 14: 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.

This course is designed for students aged 10-14 and provides a first-hand look at the techniques behind 3D printing. It provides knowledge of machinery and tools from the prototyping stage to full production. Students will use design software to create two detailed digital models to keep. All supplies are included.

Crafts - $40

Nov. 19, 20, 21: 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.

This DIY course allows exposure to different medians in art and design for students 7-10 years of age. A first-hand look at painting, photography, calligraphy, jewelry making, and wood and glass design are provided. Students will create at least one gift of their choice and all supplies are included.
