United States Air Force Thunderbirds Air Show

Due to weather, the Air Show is cancelled.

This year marks the 63rd Thunderbirds Air Show performance during Cheyenne Frontier Days and the 18th year Laramie County Community College has hosted the performance.

Enjoy live music from the U.S. Air Force band Wild Blue Country, FEWAFB Helicopter and the WYANG C-130 flight demonstrations, concessions and Thunderbird Air Show t-shirt sales by LCCC student groups.

AIR SHOW — WEDNESDAY, JULY 26, 2017

  • 7 a.m. – Noon – College Drive closes to through traffic from Fox Farm Road to Avenue C; Only Air Show traffic allowed. Other community traffic will be detoured.
  • 7 a.m. – LCCC opens for public parking.
  • 7:15 - 9:20 a.m. – Wild Blue County band performs.
  • 8:45 a.m.– Francis E Warren Air Force Base Helo Squadron
    Watch two USAF UH-1N Huey helicopters fly into Show area and hover as AF personnel are hoisted to the ground. The helicopters will take off and then return to land and pick-up the AF personnel on the ground.
  • 9 a.m. – College Drive closes to all traffic from Fox Farm to Avenue C, by FAA ruling.
  • 9 a.m. – Wyoming Air National Guard Base
    See a WYANG C-130 fly into the Show area and release 2000 gallons of water, demonstrating the capabilities of the Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System. The Wyoming Air Guard is one of four military units to perform this mission for the U.S. Forest Service.
  • 9:20 a.m.– USAF and WANG Enlistment Ceremony
  • 9:30 a.m. – Performance begins.
  • 10:30 a.m. – College Drive opens for Air Show traffic leaving LCCC.
  • 12:30 p.m. – College Drive opens for all traffic.

PRACTICE FLIGHT — MONDAY, JULY 24

  • 2 p.m. – College Drive closes to traffic between Fox Farm Rd & Avenue C; Campus traffic allowed to exit the west entrance & travel west.
  • 2:30 p.m. – Practice flight.
  • 3:30 p.m. – Aerobat practice ends.
  • 4 p.m. – College Drive opens to all traffic.

AVOID PARKING ISSUES — TAKE A FREE PARK-AND-RIDE SHUTTLE!

Free shuttle buses to LCCC run 7–8:50 a.m. on Wed., July 26, depart from and return to:

  • Holliday Home Plaza — 3000 Nationway (Ashley Furniture lot)
  • Cheyenne Plaza — 3503 East Lincolnway (Hobby Lobby lot)
