Due to the Covid-19 virus and campus safety procedures, the Learning Commons will
be closed over LCCC’s extended Spring Break through March 31.
Beginning April 1, all Learning Commons tutoring, writing and communications assistance,
and PASS sessions will utilize Zoom for online-only appointments.
The LCCC Learning Commons helps students become independent, active, confident learners through a range of high quality tutoring services and academic success skills assistance. Every student can benefit from discussing course content, homework, questions, study strategies, and test preparation with one of our trained, experienced tutors!
Tutoring is available during the Fall and Spring semesters seven days a week, Monday to Sunday, in almost all subjects – math, statistics, anatomy/physiology, biology, chemistry, history, psychology, computer science, economics, business, accounting, humanities, criminal justice, art, medical terminology, geology, physics, political science, philosophy, and more! During the summer, tutoring is available five days a week, Monday to Friday, in most subjects.
Writing, public speaking, English, and communications assistance is also available. Our writing consultants help students become more independent, confident writers, speakers, and thinkers through a range of writing and public speaking support services and college success skills assistance. By listening, asking questions, and providing resources, our writing consultants empower students to evaluate and make decisions about their own work, encouraging them to develop positive attitudes about their communication skills.
Some classes are hard—why not attend built-in, fun group study sessions led by someone who recently passed the class? Experience a supportive, exciting approach to learning: PASS offers the opportunity to study the exact course material covered in class with experienced tutors and former students. PASS is limited to specific, historically-challenging courses here at LCCC—ask your instructor if PASS is available for your class!
See your PASS leader for locations and meeting times.
Online tutoring is available with LCCC tutors during open hours. For online tutoring instructions, visit LCCC Tutoring Policies.
If it's 3 a.m. and students need help, they can try NetTutor, a free online service that offers tutoring in many subjects, including math, accounting, chemistry, humanities, and more, 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Students access NetTutor from their Canvas account under Help >> Student Resources Site.
The Learning Commons is delighted to support faculty and help develop students' success skills and learning toolboxes through in-class and out-of-class workshops. Faculty can contact the Learning Commons at tutorFREELARAMIE to schedule any of the workshops on the Writing and Success Skills Workshops Menu.Faculty can request any combination of workshops for any length of time (though we encourage 45 min - 1 hour workshops for more class participation and activities).
Want a particular success skills or writing workshop but not seeing it on the menu? Contact the Learning Commons at tutorFREELARAMIE with a description of what you are looking for, and we will develop a workshop around your request!
